Where MAGIC is made…
(This is where everything virtually is being recorded for ‘ITZ ALL ABOUT THE RIFF’)
About
Hi, im Christian Lauria, CEO & Owner of ‘Machine Men Studio’s’ at Brighton le Sands.
A brief history of my musical background is available on my personal bio for Christian Lauria, here is the recording side of things. My first recording was for my then band ‘Koke Addiction’ on our self titled ep. It was recorded on an 8 track tascam. In 1997 i started working as an Assistant Engineer under the careful eye of Sammy Kannis at Milk Bar Studio’s. The project i worked on were for ‘Oblivia” & Mark Lisica.
In 2009 my dad Angelo & I built my studio out of a garage. We have a main room and a vocal booth, decorated by my wife Maxine, she has created a quaint, relaxing atmosphere, with lotsa Rock’n'Roll flavour.
We hit the jackpot with the vocal booth, where the sound is enhanced due to 9ft x 4ft vaccum sealed double glass panel, which allows direct viewing into the control room. Cuppled with the mosaic concrete floor, i am able to achieve instant clarity with any vocal style, or instrument recorded in there.
The control room has a fully floating floor, which isolates the room from any other exernal sound or vibrations. The ceilings are raised to pitch and the whole studio is accousically treated.
In the studio, we use a wide range of gear. They include G5 Mac, Pro tools, Digi 002 & 001, Logic Audio, Abelton Live, Yamaha NS-10m & Roland DS-90 for monitoring gear, Presonus Fire Studio/Faderport/MSR Remote.
The musical equipment available to use are Mic’s – Rode, Shure, Custom handmade STA Fr2, TL Audio Mic-pre’s, TC Electronic finalizer, Roland Piano, Axiom Midi controller, Alesis DM5 drum brain & kit, Dr-202, Line 6 FX, X3 Live, Krammer Bass & Krammer Electric Guitars, Banjo & Bouzouki and trumpet.
Our available servces include, in house production, engineering, mixing, & recording. I also have musician’s available for session work & voice-overs. We have qualified Guitar, Drums & Piano teachers for private lessons, and also offer live streaming through jtv.com.
To date, i have recorded works for – Modern Murder “No Cadence”, The Bleed, Ricky Bloomfield, Beware Of The Dog, Leif ‘Snake’ Sixx, Saint Lucifer’s ‘The New Messiah’ album, Johnathan Devoy‘s debut ep ‘Mourning Sunshine’, Virginia Lillye, Decision Was His.
I was flabergasted when my good mate Jordan Howe asked me to produce his new band ‘Saint Lucifer. That experience alone taught me alot about working with different personalities, as previously it was just my band ‘Modern Murder‘. Jordan is very fortunate to have on board with him Paul Woseen from The Screaming Jets, The legend that is Metal, Wayne Campbell from Mortal Sin & the cleanest fastest lead guitarist ive ever hear Stu Marshall of Paindivision. All of us in admiration of each other we were all equally as nervous as the other to please…im happy to say we absolutley killed it, we had a bloody blast and i have made life long friends with all of them. I am very proud of ‘The New Messiah‘ and cannot wait for the beast to be unleashed 6.6.12.
The past year i have been very fortunate to be the producer of the EPIC forthcoming ‘Itz All about The Riff‘ album, brainchild of one Leif Sixx…This amazing tribute to great Australian songs has been an absolute honour to work on. What an amazingly diverse group of extrodinarily talented artists…i am humbled they made the trek mostly on public transport to my humble lil abode in Brighton le Sands. All graciously giving their time for free to be part of this rocking idea of Leif’s, just goes to prove Aussie muso’s rule…they include in alphabetical order…
